Still staying in Florida

Two Latte's in mugs, a cinnamon 'scoun' and a ...".  Every Friday, after work, we go to Barnes and Noble for a cup of coffee and I normally have the cinnamon scone, the Americans pronounce it 'scoun' and Ben will have whatever his mood allows.  The scone is 'n triangular pastry with chocolate chips and of course cinnamon.  Barnes and Noble is a huge bookstore, so we always browse the books first.  I can't buy books anymore because I haven't read half the ones I already bought, so I have to catch up first.  This particular Friday we actually missed our date with Barnes and Noble and we went to a bar/restaurant called 'Bahama Breeze'.  This place has a huge open-air deck that goes up to the water and on Friday nights they have somebody that plays Caribbean Music.  The previous time we went there, we did not dance since it looked too difficult, but this time we tried it.  After about two songs of Marengo dancing we even had a couple come up to us to ask us how the steps work. And we were guessing to.  It is a different way of dancing where you are supposed to only use your hips.  They also have a line dance that is almost like square dancing, but we couldn't figure it out and were stepping on everybody's toes.  You can't do too much of this dancing or you'll pass out from the heat.

From Wired Magazine: "The middle-class, Bronx-born sons of a semiprofessional boxer; they began their book-selling business with a single store and now boast 1,000-plus outlets that have...".  It's is the Riggio brothers they were talking about and they open up their first store in 1965 near New York University with a loan of $5000.
We try to go to church every Sunday,  it is so entertaining that we always feel sorry if we miss a service.  The Americans are really talented when it comes to expressing themselves verbally.  You already notice it in the little children, from grade one they have these show-and-tell sessions where they have to talk in front of the whole class.
The church is not connected to any denomination and, although there are instances of all over America, every congregation has to sustain itself.  Ours is an old supermarket that was revamped.  The pastor is Danny Hodges.  They put every service on the internet and you can download it to listen to it again.
If you want to listen to it, just click here on the: .

We sometimes go to the movies too.  We do it in sort of bursts. The last one we saw was Inspector Gadget.  I must say I am still a huge Disney Fan.  As you can see, the buildings suffer from the mildew.  American's build mostly with wood, so carpentry is a popular occupation.  We also have a lot of polystyrene in our apartment block, in South Africa it would have been concrete.
